Delores Kendall

Delores Elaine Kendall gained her wings on December 22, 2021, with her loving family at her side. She was 86 years old. She was born February 28, 1935, in Tama, Iowa to Ed and Ilene Rutledge.

She married the love of her life William “Bill” Kendall on October 24, 1964. They made their home in Reasnor, IA, and began a family. After retiring they spent the summers in Iowa and winters in Rockport for the last 25 plus years. They made Rockport their home in 2004. Her door was always open and coffee was always brewing.

She enjoyed cooking, and especially baking her famous beef noodles for her friends and family. She was a proud member of the New Beginnings Church of Rockport. She enjoyed potlucks, Bingo, and going to garage sales. She had an incredible Zest for life and never met a stranger. Her favorite time was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren,

She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Kendall; daughter, Cyndi Wood; parents; sister, Karen Rutledge; brother, Ed Rutledge, Jr.; adopted son, Curtis Templeman; granddaughter, Corey Lewis.

She is survived by sons, Kevin Kendall (Brenda Simon) of Pine Island, MN; and Tracy Munger (Tillena) of Kellogg, IA; daughters, Tammy Peters (Joel) of Swea, IA; and Missy Holdefer (Tony) of Aransas Pass, Texas; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Reasnor, IA.
