Dr. Delbert Lloyd Edwardson

November 21, 1945 — October 5, 2023

Dr. Delbert Lloyd Edwardson, much loved husband, father, brother and friend, passed away on October 5, 2023. He was born on November 21, 1945 in Horton, Kansas to Lloyd and Helen Edwardson.

He was a farm boy turned doctor who never outgrew his love of the outdoors, small town community and simple pleasures. He served Aransas Pass as a doctor for forty-eight years.

Delbert is preceded in death by a cherished son, Jeffrey Edwardson, and by his father and mother.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Treva Jean Edwardson; daughters: Delora Santini (+Trey) and Annie Claypool (+Cody); daughter-in-law: Christina Edwardson (+Sammy); grandchildren: Nicolas, Kayley, Sarah, Natalie, Alyssa, Romeo, Xavianna, Tristan, Reign, Alana, Kylie, Vincent, Takoda and Michael; siblings: Kathern Lewis, Shirley Shaw, Nancy Thyme, Philip Edwardson, Christine Dieker and Jim Edwardson; and many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 14 at 10:30 am at Bethel Baptist Church in Ingleside, Texas. In keeping with Delbert's deep interest in Science and Space a limited supply of solar viewing glasses will be available for guests to view the annular eclipse together following the service. You are invited to bring your own viewing glasses if you are able.

In keeping with Delbert’s adherence to the Spirit of Giving, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the local food bank or the Church in Action (CIA) Ministry C/O FCCAP PO 496 Aransas Pass, TX 7833. CIA is a benevolent fund that has assisted people in the community who are going through a tough time financially. The program has helped with rent, utilities, and food.
