Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Sister, Deborah Darnelle (Dobie) Horne of Rockport, Texas, who went by Debi, passed away on May 24th,2023. She was 69 years old.
Debi was born in San Marcos to Sylvia McClain and Bob Dobie. She was the eldest of three daughters. In her lifetime, she lived in several places within Texas and Tennessee and eventually settled in South Texas in her retirement home in Rockport.
She went to Del Mar College in Corpus Christi and became an LVN. She eventually returned to college and got Certified as a Coding Analyst continuing her career in Healthcare until she retired.
Although she worked throughout her lifetime, her biggest and most important role was Mom. She was a loving, devoted, involved and passionate mother and her children, Justin and Robbie, meant everything to her. She was incredibly proud of all their accomplishments. Both her sons were active military in the Marines and Debi supported their desire to serve their country while silently praying for their safe return home. Her son’s further boosted her pride by having children of their own making her a Grandmother and was affectionately called Dede. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye. She loved them deeply and would spend as much time as possible with them. She was the family historian and was always sharing stories
of her childhood and of her life and she had the uncanny ability to make everyone laugh. She had the kindest and most loving heart and would do anything for you.
She is preceded in death by her son, Justin Horne and now reunited with him in heaven. With profound sadness and heavy hearts she leaves behind her son, Robbie Horne (Sarah); her grandchildren, Madison, Trayce, Kendall, Hayleah and Jaelyn. Her younger sisters, Donna Dobie Parks, and nieces, Wendy Seaney (JD) and children, April Milner (April) and children, and sister, Dori Dobie (Fran) who looked up to Debi like a second mom. She was married to Bill Horne for 40+ years and remained in contact with him until the day she died. She will be greatly missed by extended family and friends.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Debi (Ma, Dede) you are forever in our hearts and deeply missed. We love you.
