David Matthew Chapa was called home by His Father on February 9, 2025.
Matthew was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 15, 1995 to David Christian Chapa and Amy Jean Aleman. Matthew was the eldest son and big brother to his siblings, Kristen Danielle Chapa, Mia Nicole Chapa, John Michael Chapa, Jeremiah Christian Chapa, Luke Halen Leal, Justine Bethany Leal, and Van Owen Leal. He had a unique relationship with each of them and loved them all in his own distinct way. Matthew brought two beautiful daughters into this world, Josline LeAnn Chapa and Spencer Rayne Chapa.
Matt was such a free spirit with an amazingly big heart and the warmest smile. Once he was able to explore out and beyond home, he was all over the country. He could not be confined to one place. This taught him various interesting life skills. From working on a farm as an illegal immigrant to working in his bedroom office from home, he could do it all!
Matthew was able to soak up any and all information. He enjoyed reading and deep diving into the world with a perspective and understanding on an intellectual level many could not comprehend. And once he started to open up to someone, the knowledge would just pour out.
The thing Matthew loved most was his family. He would bring everyone together at the most random times just to be around each other. Along the way, Matthew fell in love with his best friend, Eve. Forever by his side, Eve was always up for an adventure. From kayaking to hiking to ice cream treats by the lake, she brought him so much happiness. His entire face would light up when she ran to him. "My Baby!!"
Matthew and Eve will forever be loved and always missed. The imprint you both left on all of our hearts is something we will never let go. Thank you for always loving, never judging, and we'll see you again.
