Daniel Jeffery Fake, age 67, of Aransas Pass, Texas passed away June 20th, 2023.
He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on October 19th, 1955 to Rev. Charles and Wanda (Sadler) Fake, growing up in various places around Texas before moving to Rockport, Texas in 1964.
Dan graduated as honor student at Rockport-Fulton High School. He began his college education at University of Texas at Austin and graduated from Corpus Christi State University (now Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi) with a degree in business management. He worked as a technical writer for various companies in the tech industry for many years. In more recent years he worked at the Aransas Pass WalMart.
Dan was friendly and personable. He loved to read and researched his favorite subjects exhaustively. As a lifelong diabetic, he was passionate about advocating for diabetes research, campaigning for the name of the disease to be changed to insulinitis. The light of his life was his beloved daughter Angela, who remembers him as the most loving and selfless father, despite living in different states.
Dan is preceded in death by mother Wanda Fake, brother David Fake, and sister Debbie Hamm. He is survived by his father Rev. Charles Fake, daughter Angela Fake, sister Dianna (Mark) Hinze, brother Dwight Fake, and beloved friends and family members.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 1st at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Rockport, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dan's honor to JDRF at www.jdrf.org.
