Cyril Perry, Jr.

October 15, 1940 — August 25, 2020

Cyril Anthony (Bo) Perry, Jr., 79, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on August 25, 2020. He entered this world on October 15, 1940 in Opelousas, LA, born to Cyril Anthony Perry, Sr. and Garia Ann Perry. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Patricia Perry; his daughter, Paige Lange, and her husband, Ralph; his son, Chase Perry, and his wife, Kristi; and his grandchildren, Rachel Lange, Paul Lange, Abbey Perry, and Carter Perry. Bo grew up in Kingsville, the son of a railroad dispatcher dad and a hairdresser mom. He loved to play sports, especially baseball, where he excelled at catcher. How interesting it is that his dad was a catcher, his son was a catcher, and his grandsons have been catchers! After graduating from the Texas College of Arts and Industries (now Texas A&M University-Kingsville) and marrying his college sweetheart, Bo served as an Air Force officer from 1964 to 1985. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after a distinguished career as a decorated communications officer. For his second career he taught high school science in Seguin, Texas, a job that he loved (even if his son didn't love it while he attended the same high school!). Bo gave a significant amount of his time and resources to the Church of Christ, leading songs, teaching Sunday school, and serving as an elder. In his spare time, Bo fished and hunted, played 42 and poker, and always savored very dry humor! Most of all, he loved his family, who miss him very much, and he loved the Lord, who will now have the pleasure of his company. A graveside service will be held on or about September 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Lone Star Cemetery in Pineland, Texas.
