Charles Koenig, Jr.

Charles Koenig Jr., 82, passed away on August 19, 2017 in Rockport, Texas. He was born August 13, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas to Breslau and Charles Koenig, Sr.

Charles graduated with a BS from Trinity University in San Antonio Texas then continued to the University of Illinois where he graduated with a Master's degree in Business and Marketing. During this time Charles served in the Navy Reserves for seven years and was honorably discharged in 1961.

Charles had a long business career in the food service industry, ending with his retirement as Vice President of Marketing from Chef Francisco located in Eugene, Oregon. After retirement Charles pursued many things of interest to him including becoming a licensed stockbroker in Temecula, California. After returning to Texas in 2000, he became involved in the Port Aransas Rotary holding Board positions including President, Treasurer and Secretary. He also joined the Coastal Bend Wood Carvers where he served on the board for many years. Charles greatly enjoyed learning the art of carving wood, entering his work into local contests and winning many a blue ribbon.

Charles was proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Linda Koenig, his daughter, Tonja Koenig Sparks, his son, Mark Koenig and three grandchildren; Bailie Sam and Lily.
