Carolyn Pena

Carolyn Sue Pena was born in Rockport, Texas on July 27, 1947. She went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 8, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents; Edward and Mary Rinche Pena and her brother, Eddie Pena. 

She was survived by two sisters, Mary Alice Pena and Tomasita Pena of Rockport.

Carolyn attended Sacred Heart School when it was taught by the Schoenstatt Sisters. She continued her schooling in Rockport and graduated with the Class of 1965. After completing Business School, she went to work for the Corpus Christi Independent School District. She moved to Houston in 1972. First working for Comet Rice, she later retired from Sonat (Southern Natural Gas). She then moved back to Rockport to help take care of Dad. He lived to be 100 years old. She volunteered at the Sacred Heart Church office and at Castaway. She was a board member of the Federation of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the Diocese of Corpus Christi. She was also a part of the Rockport Our Lady of Guadalupe membership. She loved making rosaries. She would make the rosaries that were passed out when the Guadalupanas were asked to pray a rosary. 

The visitation will be on Tuesday, March 19h at 3:00 pm till 9pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, March 20h at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Followed by a burial at Rockport Cemetery.
