Billy Webb

Billy G. Webb passed away on December 22, 2020, at the age of 89. Bill was born in Healdton, Oklahoma to Albert Lee and Vera V. Webb. He is preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, Patricia Ann Webb, and son, Frank Lawrence Webb.  He is survived by his children Anthony Paul Webb (Patty) of Rockport, Texas; Sharon Duncan (Thomas) of Portland, Texas, and Cindy Porter (Jeff) of George West, Texas, and grandchildren: Robert Duncan (Tiffany) of Houston, Texas; Marissa Webb (Robb Woods) of Littleton, Colorado; and Michelle Galan (Rene) of Miami, Oklahoma; Luke Porter (Renee) of Tyler, Texas; and Will Porter (Ruth) of George West, Texas and nine great grandchildren.

Bill served in the U.S. Navy from March 6, 1948, to April 6, 1953, and retired from Central Power and Light as Manager of the Portland office.  He was a member of the First Christian Church of Portland and served as an Elder and in later years attended Oak Ridge Baptist Church of Portland, Texas.

Bill served as Mayor of the City of Portland from 1990 to 1996 and “Billy G Webb Drive” is named in his honor.

Bill was a member of the Kiwanis Club (President), Jr. Chamber (Charter Member)

Chamber of Commerce (Charter Member), Portland Volunteer Fire Department (Lifetime Member), and Portland Municipal Foundation.

Visitation is Tuesday, December 29th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of Bill’s life at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Portland, Texas. Interment to follow at Palms Memorial Gardens in Taft, Texas.
