Bill Ray Atkins

Billie Ray Atkins born May 15, 1958 in Augusta, Georgia to Sumako Watanabe and Harold Atkins passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on August 11, 2024 in Rockport, Texas.

Growing up in Lawton, Oklahoma, Bill was extremely proud of his father's WWII military service and his mother's exquisite Japanese heritage. In the 90's Bill moved with his family to the Texas Gulf Coast. In Rockport he enjoyed the ample fishing opportunities and as an avid chef, Bill loved to be in the kitchen creating delicious meals.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Sumako and Harold, and his wife Debra Atkins. He is survived by son Spencer Atkins of Rockport, sister Barbara (Tony) Waltrip of Piedmont, Oklahoma, and sister Bobby (Anthony) Tate of Rockport.

The family wishes to express a deep gratitude to the hospice care staff who guided Bill and his family on a peaceful transition. No longer confined by his earthly bounds, full of wisdom and compassion, Bill transfers to his next journey, forever a Samurai at Heart.
