Betty Louise Lindeau

Betty Louise Lindeau had an incredible long life but joined her loved ones in heaven May 30, 2023.

Betty was born Betty Louise Bigley September 27, 1927 in Clarion, Pennsylvania.  Her father, Guy Orville Bigley died July 11, 1963 and her mother, Carrie Catherine (Shingledecker) Bigley died October 10, 2000.

Betty’s almost 96 years took her on an amazing adventure.  She was raised in Clarion, PA but right after high school, she stayed in Washington DC, working for J. Edgar Hoover as a secretary at the FBI.  She married James Oliver Edwards, September 21, 1945 and had three children:

Preceding her in death, her son, William Frederick Edwards, Rensselaer, Ind, married to Lynda.

D. Gay Edwards McElroy, Floresville, TX, married to Robert.

Guy Richard Edwards, Woodstock, Vermont, married to Dawn.

Betty moved with her three children to Tucson, Arizona, where she mostly raised them alone, and started a new career by getting her real estate license.  Her life’s journey would then take them to West Baden- French Lick, Indiana, and Charlotte, Michigan.  After her children were married and on their own, she ran the Oaks Campground in Francesville, Indiana.  Betty retired to Texas then Florida then back to Texas.

Her children gave her eight Grandchildren.

She had four Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Drieden Placide, Fishersville, VA.

She has been a secretary, a waitress, real estate salesperson then broker and eventually she taught real estate classes.

Betty has created and managed several businesses such as a laundromat, the Burgerbuff (restaurant), Gift shop, Lunchtime Cafe, and The Browse-Around (second-hand store).  Betty spent her 80s raising butterflies in Florida, which she loved.  

Her greatest regret was that the family spread out and she was not able to get close to several grandchildren and did not even get to meet some of them.  But she loved seeing photos and hearing about what they were each doing.
