It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Ann House, a beloved wife, mother, teacher, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who departed this life peacefully on 14 December 2024, at the age of 88. Surrounded by the love of her family, she left this world as she lived it—full of grace, wisdom, and kindness.Born on 17 May 1936 in Milam County, TX. Betty dedicated her life to her family, education and nurturing others. Betty spent 39 years as a teacher, shaping young minds and inspiring countless students to pursue their dreams. Her classroom was a haven of encouragement, where she shared not only knowledge but also life lessons that would resonate with her students for years to come. She held high standards in the classroom because she wanted her students to achieve all their goals in life.Beyond her teaching career, Betty was the cornerstone of her family. She shared a remarkable 60-year marriage with her devoted husband, Jerry Wade House, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a family rooted in love, faith, and tradition.
She is survived by her 4 children: Vicki Ballard, Jerry Wade House Jr., Sheryl Williams, Caryn Plant, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of compassion and resilience. Betty was known for her quick wit, and unwavering belief in the potential of every person she met. She loved gardening, cooking for her family, and sharing stories around the table. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, and camping. Her family will forever cherish the memories of her warm hugs, sage advice and love for those that were not always in the best of circumstances. Though her absence leaves a void, her spirit will remain alive in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on 21 Dec. 2024 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Betty, you will be deeply missed, but your impact on your family and students will never be forgotten. May you rest in eternal peace.
