Betty Jane Henne Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Jane Henne less than a month shy of her 99th birthday on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
Betty was born on June 10, 1925 in San Antonio, Texas to parents Frank & Bessie Webb. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank & Bessie Webb, older twin sisters Dorothy & Doris Webb, husband Cecil Henne, son Louis Henne, and sister-in-law Imogene Elliott.
Betty is survived by her daughter Claudia Jo Johnson, grandson William, granddaughter Jaime, cousin Travis Tate Jr., extended family, and countless friends.
Betty received her bachelor's degree from Texas Women's University, and master's degree from Incarnate Word. She worked as a special education teacher for a number of years, moving up through the ranks to become one of the Special Education Supervisors for San Antonio ISD before she retired.
Throughout her life Betty was an avid Texas Longhorns football fan, proud 'crazy cat lady', puzzle task-master, and unofficial Pearl Light and Coors Light beer connoisseur. She will also be remembered for her quick wit while 'tooling the halls' at Gulf Pointe Plaza, always with a smile or a joke for the nurses and other residents.
Betty was loved by all that knew her and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite local animal shelter.
A celebration of Betty's life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2:00pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes & Crematory, 814 E. Main Street, Rockport, Texas.
