Bernice Merkel

Bernice Eileen Merkel of Aransas Pass, Texas passed away November 2, 2017 at the age of 91. She was born March 25, 1926 in New Ulm, Texas to Roman and Frances Machinskey.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Theodore Peter Merkel, Sr.; 8 siblings as well as those within the Merkel family, August Merkel, Jacob Merkel, Bertha (Merkel) Pfieffer and many family members that have grown their angel wings!

Bernice is survived by her son, Theodore Peter Merkel Jr.; daughter, Lois (Merkel) Young; brother in law, Herbert Merkel; sister Ester Heinsohn; grandchildren, John and Melissa Young, James Young, Joseph and Karen Young, Jeremy and Denise Young, Christine Kamal, Thomas and Deborah Langston, Cindy Boyles and her family; great grandchildren, Sarah Kathlyn Manning and fiancé Joshua Boyles, Michelle Rebecca Langston, and Tyler Damian Miller, Claudia Renee Manning, Maykala Elise Young, Robert Alexander Ardoin, Freeman Graham Ardoin, Jackson Delaunay Young; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and more family members that can be listed.

Pallbearers will be: Delphine Merkel, John Young, Joseph Young, Jeremy Young, Thomas Langston, Joshua Boyles, Honorary Pallbearer will be, James Young.

A Visitation will be held from 9:00a.m.-9:00p.m. with family present from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00a.m. Saturday November 11, 2017 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery.
