Barbara Windrup

Barbara "Sally" Windrup, 79 passed away Monday, January 8, 2018. She was born March 29, 1938 in Rockport to the late John "Buddy" Warden and Opal Marshall Warden.

Sally was an avid reader and spent many hours in the local libraries. She was passionate about genealogy and even moved to Salt Lake City for a few years to utilize the world's largest genealogical library.

She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Fisher and husband Steve of Port Lavaca and Tammy Hlavinka and husband Toby of East Bernard. Seven grandchildren; Kendra Fisher, Stefanie Mitchell (Ryan), Scott Johnson (Elizabeth), Byron Hlavinka (Lisa), James Johnson (Lindsey), Heidi Stasiak (Daniel), and Nathan Hlavinka; Seven great grandchildren. Sister Joyce Close (Bobby) of Rockport and two sisters in-law Sandra Warden of Rockport and Victoria Warden of Dallas.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Windrup; daughter, Barbie Mills; brothers, Hayes Warden and John "Butch" Warden.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 13, 2018 1pm to 2 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Service at 2pm with interment immediately following at Rockport Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott Johnson, James Johnson, Byron Hlavinka, Nathan Hlavinka, Ryan Mitchell and Bobby Close, Jr. Honorary Pallbearer Daniel Stasiak.

A special thanks to the staff of Gulf Pointe Plaza Nursing Facility in Rockport for their superb care and especially to LaSandra Finney who was Mom's special angel these last few years.
