Barbara Marie Defibaugh passed away unexpectedly, on February 20, 2019, at her home in Rockport,
Texas.
She was born Barbara Marie Lovell, on Friday, August 14, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas to Ben and Jessie
Lea Lovell (Henley). A homemaker for most of her adult life, she enjoyed crafting - especially ceramics,
her many collections, and her beloved Chihuahuas, Ferdinand, and Razz. She also loved to spend time
with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben Lovell and Jessie Degel, her first husband Richard
Lowrey, her husband Gordon Defibaugh, and her son Richard Edward Lowrey, Jr.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kimberley (Eric) Barrera, her son Bobby (Rachel) Lowrey, her
grandchildren, Kyle, Anthony, Chelsea, Hannah (Logan), Kaden, Koby, and Kiersa, her great-grandson
Noah, her siblings, Virginia (Ellis) Tankersley, and Roger (Stephanie) Coulter, and countless nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home at 2003 W. Wheeler St. in Aransas Pass, Texas,
on Sunday, February 24, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:30. Graveside services will be
held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, March 1, 2019, at 10 am.
Barbara’s family wishes to express their gratitude and sincere appreciation for those who have reached
out in love and in her memory.
