Alvaro Medina

Alvaro Gilberto "El Bandido" Medina Jr, 70, passed away suddenly on June 23, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born June 6, 1948 in Aransas Pass, Texas to Alvaro and Maria Medina, Sr.

Gilberto "El Bandido" was a lifelong resident of Aransas Pass, Texas. He started out as a shoe shine boy at a very young age which lead him to find his love for soul music. Being from AP, his job hunting leads him to shrimping in the Gulf Coast. He was a Shrimper for most of his working years. He was a hard man, but had a gentle heart under that rough exterior. In later years, reminiscing of those times and listening to his favorite soul music brought him so much joy!

He was preceded in death by his sister Julia Medina, his brother Ambrosio Medina, his father Alvaro Medina Sr., his infant son Alvaro Gilberto Medina II, his sister Alicia Medina, and his daughter-in-law Sara Cruz Medina. Unfortunately just over a year ago on June 2, 2017, he was greatly saddened by the loss of his lifelong friend Estella V. Rodriguez also of Aransas Pass.

He is survived by his mother, Maria (Debo) Medina, seven siblings: Christina Medina, Juanita Medina, Angelina (Juan) Arroyo of Pharr, Texas, Josepha (Raul) Elizalde of Corpus Christi, Texas, Lorenzo (Linda) Medina Sr of Seattle, Washington, Juanito (Joann) Medina of Fresno, California and Diana Medina. He's the proud father of 3: his daughter Lisa (Teles) Torres and sons: Alvaro Gilberto Medina III, and last but not least his "Perro," Piporro "Pepe" Papito Alvaro Gilberto (Micaela) Medina of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

We're grateful to have the following pallbearers; Nephews: Phillip Reynolds, Tony Arroyo Jr, Leon Medina, and Lorenzo Medina Jr with Great-Grandsons: Nathaniel Morris and Ricardo Nino Jr.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m., at Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes in Aransas Pass, TX.

Funeral Service will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, TX.

Christian burial will follow at San Antonio Cemetery in Aransas Pass, TX.
