Alice Jeane Smith (nee Branstetter) passed away October 23, 2021. She was born January 20, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas.
She arrived in Port Aransas in 1980, always saying “that she wasn’t born here, but got here as fast as she could”.
She worked in many locations in Port Aransas, including The Ice Box stores and Fisherman’s Wharf.
After meeting Jim Wilson, she traveled with him to his work in Azerbaijan, Mexico and Indonesia, during which time she visited many foreign places. She returned with Jim to Port Aransas in 2010 where they stayed until her passing peacefully at her home.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Wilson; Her children Mark Hughes and his three children of Lawton, Oklahoma, Michael Lynch of Port Aransas, Texas, Amber Moore and her child of Wichita, Kansas. Her two stepdaughters, Lynn Horner and Kerry Wilson of the U.K. and their 6 children.
Visitation will be held from 2:00p.m.-4:00p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 and Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Graveside service conducted by Rev. James Derkits will begin at 2:00p.m. Thursday, October at Royal Palm Cemetery, Port Aransas.
