Abelardo Solis, Sr.

Abelardo Solis, Sr., resident of Rockport, TX, passed away on July 17, 2018 at the age of 75.

Abelardo is survived by two sisters, Ida Rinche of San Antonio, TX, and Erma Solis of Rockport, TX; four brothers, George (Alvie) Solis Sr. of Rockport, Rudy (Heidi) Samora of Rockport, Frank Samora, Sr., of Houston, TX, and Robert Samora of Houston.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Miguel, Sr. and Isabel Samora; two sisters, Delia Canchola of Rockport, and Diana Sauceda of Houston; four brothers, Miguel Solis, Jr., Gilbert Solis, Sr., Raymond Solis, Sr., of Rockport, and Daniel Solis, Sr., of Houston.

Abelardo was born on July 13, 1943 in Rockport, TX to Miguel Solis Sr. and Isabel Samora. He was a self-employed welder for many years.

He was married to Maria Solis for 57 years and the couple had five children, Rickey Garcia of Orlando, FL, Abelardo, Jr., of
Rockport, John (Melissa) Solis of Rockport, Robert (Gwyenth) Solis of Temple, TX, and Roland (Brenda) Solis of Rockport.

Abelardo was a loving grandfather to Orlando (Jeana) Solis, Joseph Solis, Ashlyn Solis, Justin (Jordy) Solis, Jeremy Solis, Hannah Solis, Ryan Garcia, Vanessa Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Kailey Solis, Macie Solis and Evelyn Solis. As well as five great-grandchildren.

He will always be remembered as a loving husband and family man.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, TX. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Rockport, TX. All Services will conclude after Mass. Cremation will follow.
