Carolyn Rae Donnelly, 84, of Rockport, Texas passed away on September 18, 2022.   She was born in Independence, Missouri on January 18, 1938 to Herman and Alma Johnson.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents and brother Royce W. Johnson.

Left to cherish Carolyn’s memory is her husband Joseph Donnelly of Rockport, sons Neal Clark and Steve Clark, and daughter Kerry Donnelly.   Carolyn is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grand children.

Carolyn graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence, Missouri and then continued on to get her bachelors in elementary education from Graceland College in Iowa and Central Missouri State University (CMSU).   Carolyn taught for many years and retired after a long stretch as a 4th grade teacher at James Lewis Elementary in Blue Springs, Missouri.  While teaching she also completed her Masters degree at CMSU.

Carolyn always had a great passion for learning, nature and history.   She shared this with Joe on their many trips across the country in an RV before settling in Rockport where she loved to go to the beach and watch the sea birds.

Carolyn was also deeply caring and supportive of others.   She was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous with 33 years of sobriety.  Carolyn sponsored and supported others seeking to find their way in Missouri, Texas and in travels with Joe across the country.
