The Lord called Kameron James Heyward home from labor to reward on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the age of 16 surrounded by his parents, sister and family.

Kameron was born on December 11, 2001 to James and Gloria (Vela) Heyward. He attended Aransas Pass High School and was entering his sophomore year. He was a member of Faith Mission Church of God in Christ and loved life. He found strength in God to help him with the obstacles he endured. He was his sister’s biggest fan, following and commentating on all sporting activities she participated in. Kameron loved sports and enjoyed watching sporting events with family and friends. On NFL Draft Day Kameron would inform everyone about the results of the draft. His favorite college team was Oregon Ducks. He enjoyed joking around with everyone by saying smart comments. He was a great son, brother, nephew, and cousin.

Kameron is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Frankie Mae Heyward and maternal grandmother, Estella Vela.

Kameron’s memories will be cherished by his parents, James “Coon” and Gloria (Vela) Heyward and sister Courteney Heyward of Aransas Pass; grandfather, James Heyward of Aransas Pass, TX, Granduncle Joe (Linda) Vela of Corpus Christi, TX; Uncle Anthony (Nita) Vela of San Diego, TX; Aunt Lillie Mae Heyward of Aransas Pass, TX; Aunt Holly "Lolo" Gross of Ingleside, TX; Uncle Stephen (Caitlin) Heyward of Aransas Pass, TX; Uncle Jonathan (Elia) Heyward of Ingleside, TX; Aunt Swana (Rene) Owens of Smithville, TX and a host of special cousins: Miranda, Kriselda, Kaylee, Tim, Terrance, Stephon, Swana, Kiah, Jacoby, Christopher (CJ), Porsha, Spencer.

Visitation will begin at 12:00p.m.-9:00p.m. with a Wake from 7:00p.m.-9:00p.m. Monday, July 24, 2018 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Coastal Bend Family Worship Center. Burial will follow at Aransas Memorial Park Cemetery in Rockport.

Today I cried upon learning of Kameron passing .I knew him as a Substitute Nurse and last few years as a substitute teacher.Kameron was a joy to work with and I truly loved him.The twinkle in his eyes and shouting my name when he saw me as his sub was the best gift that he gave me.I really thought when school ended this past May,I would see him again in the Fall.To the family,I am honored to have known him.He will be missed.Donna McDowell

You all are in our prayers.

Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them." Revelation 14:14
