Gail, I am so sorry for your loss. I'll never forget when we were at Rockport years ago out fishing and we ran out of gas. George didn't want to ask anyone for help, but he finally did and we made it back to Palm Harbor. I lost my husband 3 years ago. My prayers are with you and your family. My heart hurts for you. Just know your old fishing girls still love you.

There will never be another vet like George Stork. He treated my dog, Patches, for diabetes for 5 years and took him home many times to check his insulin levels. I'll never forget George's description of what would happen after Patches ate an entire pineapple cake. I loved his laugh and his smile and it's obvious from the tributes, that George lived a life that positively impacted many people. That's a life well lived. I'll miss you, my friend.

Dr. Stork cared for several of our pets and rescues. He performed surgery on a couple of our dogs. As a matter of fact, I had liberty in to see him on Friday. He was always kind to us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, his friends, and his patients, and his family at Rockport veterinary clinic. Numbers 6:24-26 May The Lord bless thee and keep thee. May The Lord make His face shine upon thee and be gracious unto thee. May The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee and give thee peace. God bless!

Dr. George Stork (and Charlie Cruser) have been our family vets for the past 15 yrs (& 6 dogs).George always enjoyed teasing Bill, especially. And I loved the way George would break out in a quick grin; Always smiling with his eyes, too.I was also touched by his compassion for our pain when we had to put down yet another of our four-legged family. I remember Bill & I crying last year when we had Mollie euthanized. When Bill left the exam room he apologized for his tears. I thanked George for his help & said, “It’s just so hard on us.” And he gave me a hug & with tears in His eyes said, “It’s not just hard on you. We’re not immune from the pain. It doesn’t get any easier for us no matter how many times we have to euthanize someone’s pet.”We were touched by Dr. Stork’s humor and his compassion. He will be missed at Rockport Veterinary Clinic by patients & staff alike. Our deepest sympathy to his family. God bless you in your loss.Bill & Jeanē WeaverDr. Stork knew when to

I have been George's closest neighbor for 16 years. He was a brilliant and very sensitive man. Many days I could see that he was down. At first I would ask him what was the matter. He would tell me that he could only put down three dogs/cats a day without feeling down. I would always ask, how many did you treat and how many did you save. The numbers were always large. Then I would ask him about the biggest triumph.... he would tell me about a run over dog or a difficult operation and he would be smiling again. He was a good man and my friend. I hope that that can be said about me ... someday.

It's with great sadness that we learn of George Stork's passing. A wonderful man and a terrific veterinarian. I clearly remember, back in the 80s, I had been seeing another vet, and noticed his new practice Canyon City animal hospital at Canyon Lake. I had just had a upsetting experience with another veterinarian when I took my dog in for a minor ailment. It's a very shy dog and I carefully explain to the vet what not to do. They of course totally ignored me. My dog Sam would not allow strangers to near until she had a moment to check them out. Anyone getting into her space before she was satisfied they were harmless , would receive a single loud painful Yelp. Her Yelp startled the vet who became angry and reprimanded me and said he would have to muzzle 'that dog' next time. It infuriated me, because it was his fault for ignoring my instructions. Not only that, but nothing was done to help my dog. I vowed never to return to that practice. I made an appointment with dr. Stork. When he entered the patient room with my dog Sam. I begin to explain how to approach her. But they had already made eye contact and Sam was wagging her tail, she NEVER, EVER does that with strangers. George reached out and patted her on the head and Sam instantly, absolutely loved him. And I knew this was the only place to bring my pets and Dr. Stork was the very best veterinarian at Canyon Lake. We always enjoyed his fishing stories and talking to Gail, and loved his silly big truck with the noisy tires, coming down Highway 306.
